As you would expect from the leader in
Hydrogen Sulfide gas technology, Texas Analytical Controls is proud to announce its latest
and most reliable H2S Transmitter -- Model 101MS-4.
The 101MS-4 utilizes our unique thin film solid state sensor. It is capable of detecting
from PPBs to % levels of Hydrogen Sulfide. Nominal range of the transmitter is 0-10 PPM up
to 500 PPM.
The electronics are housed in an explosion-proof enclosure suitable for Class I, Division
I, Groups B, C, and D. This rating is maintained throughout the normal operation as well
as calibration of the transmitter. Calibration is initiated by a small magnet without
opening the cover. Area declassification is not required.
Calibration of the 101MS-4 is fast, simple and reliable. The only 2 items required for
calibration are a known standard source of gas and a small magnet. While holding the
magnet briefly over the "CAL" label on the front panel, a letter "C"
will start flashing on the display, signifying the start of the calibration cycle. Two to
four minutes later, the "C" ceases to flash and the program automatically
adjusts the internal gain of the unit to the predefined concentration stored in the
EEPROM. The display will then reflect the correct concentration of gas applied. A minute
later, the alarm relays and the 4/20 mA output become active again. Calibration is
complete, no pots to adjust, no ZERO or SPAN voltages to remember and set.
The gas concentration is displayed on a large 3 1/2" digital display. A 4/20 mA
output is provided which can be used with any computer or SCADA system in a control
room.
Optional are two alarm relays for local level control at the sensor site. This reduces the
cost for running additional cables for local alarms.
Every significant parameter in the Model 101MS-4 is field programmable. From range, alarm
set-points, latching - non-latching status of alarms, to calibration gas concentration.
Operators can program all these features with ease in the field.
When used with TAC Hydrogen Sulfide monitoring system, 12 VDC power will be provided by
the monitor. If used as stand-alone unit, the 101MS-4 can be powered from 12 to 24
VDC.
TAC's unique sensor can work in harsh environments present in oil rigs or in gas plants
without affecting its performance. The sensor has a two-year warranty, however it is
expected to last up to five years in air.
